Sorry are you sure it's Tuesday? If they are match 7 with two games played a day from the 9th that would mean they play on the Wednesday pm?

It is because no one outside the Top 16 won the UK Championship, therefore no any wildcard for the Masters.

I think a wild card should be given to one of the up and coming youngsters, such as Jack Lisowski, Andthong McGill or someone.

Or a player who's shown big improvements this season, and has been working hard, such as our own Stu Bingham.

I grew up idolising Jimmy White, but I totally disagreed with the decision to hand him a wildcard last year. It's time for the game to move on.
                      Cheers

I agree with you with first part, that should be the best choice if there is wildcars for upcoming masters.

However, I totally disagree with your second part, because Jimmy White is very popular player and he is with Ronnie O'Sullivan, only remaining superstar in snooker! I think that is much better to watch snooker matches with sell out house, or maybe you like when is empty. Biggest problem in snooker is that players are boring, and because of that in every tournament in GB there is poor attendance (except masters & wc). Snooker will vanish for good, if everbody gonna think like you! Changes are nessesary, but the right one!

I know what you are saying. Jimmy is a player that puts bums on seats. It is up to the current crop of players to step up to the mark and take the game onwards, but they also need a push from the powers that be also. If they are not getting the opportunities, then they won't progress, and become the persoanlities the game needs. I do think the introduction of things such as the Q school is certainly gonna help the youngsters taking the game up, as there will be more opportunity for them.

What my point was, is that from a snooker playing point of view, the decision to give Jimmy the wild card last season was an odd one as he'd done nothing during the season to justify it, and his subsequent performance against Mark King was poor.
                          Cheers
