does ronnie even play snooker anymore? he really really does not care why is he here
Citing family life and his committment to his family. Kind of like when Williams started palying playing badly. But the difference between them two is Ronnie isnt getting any younger so when it comes to the time he wants to commit more to the game, he may have aged a bit which could affect him trying to get to his best form.

Is Williams defying the passage of time, then?
That yellow looked a bit reckless to me, not just the shot selection but the speed with which he decided to take it on - and then the distance by which he missed it.
If i was in Mark's place, i wouldn't be happy at all with this victory. It was handed over to him on a silver plate. Ronnie should retire after this. He is behaving disgracefully and unproffessionaly.
Well Ronnie and two other of his '92 class lost 6-4 in the first round... I am seeing some suspicious patterns here. Anyway Mark played well to stop Ronnie from coming back.

No. I'm saying Williams lost his form when he was really young so he had plenty of time to get back to his best. If Ronnie isn't going to fully commit to the game in the next several years, he may never reach his best ever again. Unless Ronnie could defy the passage of time...
Great win for Allen, he could go far in this tournament. But the draw isn't really open for him, with Robertson possibly to follow.
As for O'Sullivan, it might be the first time he's lost in the first rounds of both the UK Championship and the Masters. After all of his UK debacles, such as the walkout, conceding frames early, or the towel incident, he usually came good at the Masters, but not this time...
This also means there will probably be a new winner this year, as Hendry is the only previous winner still in the tournament.
The curse of Crondon park continues?
Selby vs Carter was group 1 final over there and both were blown away here;
Williams vs O`Sullivan the group 2 final and both were blown away just like the other 2 and Higgins was in Semis twice there. Apparently not that useful practice for The Masters
Well this isn`t too surprising to be honest. When was the last time Ronnie progressed in a serious tournament further than Round 1? Wolrd Open with Best of 5`s apparently didn`t get him too bored s thats how he got to the Final.
I wonder if Ronnie will book the tickets to Germany, would it be worth to make the trip anyway with continuing in the current form.
Lots of 4-6; 5 matches and in every single oen of them The Top 8 seed has lost the match;
Who have we got left from Top 8? Muprhy (8) vs Cope; Maguire (6) vs Fu and Robertson (2) vs Hendry. I can`t see Hendry beating Robertson, so it should be atleast 1 Top 8 seed through.
Anyway with most fo the pre-tournament favorites out, its getting more and more interesting

what are you on about that was one of the most even tempered and gentlemanly sides of ronnie i have ever seen, he was actually a model professional after that defeat - good for him i say.
If it had been boxing you would have said O'Sullivan took a dive. The yellow he shot (and missed by a yard) was ridiculous. If that's what he's bringing to the matches these days he should just stay home.
Acting experience: When I play snooker and I make a shot, I act like I meant to do it.
I missed the match, and normally should ask how Ronnie played.
But the scoreline already tells about it.
He played rubbish. Very questionable shot selection on at least 3 occasions!!! He could have easily won 6-4!
He went for everything when 2-4 down and nearly pulled it off but then again, those 3 shots I'm talking about did cost him.
Hats off to Mark Allen because when Ronnie is like that, it could affect your opponents concentration which, added to the pressure of the moment, was probably why Mark missed a few near the end.
It wasn't in the least bit enjoyable, I wouldn't have minded either of them winning as long as they gave me a good match to watch which they didn't!!! Just wasted a couple of hours in front of the telly

Not great pain relief after Mark J then? It's a real pity becuase, although I wasn't able to watch any of it, I was hoping for a good game...
I didn't really mind who won either, I was just hoping to be able to watch a re-run of the match, something tells me not to bother now
