An oasis of sense in an otherwise barren desert of nonsense.

There is a frame on YouTube from 1987 where Hendry is 12-11 down to JJ at Sheffield. I challenge anyone to say they have seen Ronnie play faster or hit the leather harder.

Hendry should sit down, watch that and sort out his pace round the table. He's thinking too much.

Is it me or does Hendry's cue action look like Murphys now?

The "coaches" now seem to be teaching a generic cue action which is absolute nonsense.

It could be that he's also thinking too much when he's down on the shot. Instead of just hitting the ball like usual, i wouldn't be surprised if he's thinking about what can go wrong if he misses, has he got his technique right, is it the right shot.

His safety shots are miles out. Hendry has all the hallmarks as when Jimmy White started to struggle. The talent is there because you can do it on the practice table but the fear is what defeats you on the match table.

            a bit disrespectful to allen

I can´t really see much disrespect in that statement. I would any day fancy Robertson to win against Allen, if he´s on top of his game, and he also says that he has to play better to get through against him. This year it´s not difficult to mention names of player who has been talking about winning the tournament, and whos already out.

When Hendry is cuing, his cue is to the right of his chin, I dont think this was the case in the past.

Just a comment on Hendry's technique. I just watched his match with Robertson and on all long shots say over 6ft he is ALWAYS delivering the cue right to left and pushing the cueball slightly to the right.

When he is in the balls with shorter shots this slight movement is not affecting the accuracy too much although I did note he was hitting the side of the pockets even when he was in the balls and I'm sure that isn't intentional.

If I knew his email address I would send him my thoughts on why he is doing this and also how to correct it but I have no way of contacting him. I would love to see him come back to somewhere near his former form.

It's my belief if he could resolve the technical issues he has now he could easily win a few tournaments even at the advanced age of 42!

So if anyone out there is a friend of his or sees him from time to time please tell Stephen to contact me as I'm sure I can help and it seems his present coach, whoever that may be, is not getting that flaw out of his cue action.

Surely his coach would have spotted this too, if his coach did spot this, then why is he not sorting it out?
