I'm not a fan of Murphy and feel he says stupid things and his conduct is spiteful at times but i do believe he's honest, the fact he played so badly yesterday has put my faith back in the game a little, he's capable of so much better and so that match at the very least is an honest reflection that he did the best he could at that time and didn't 'throw' or not care.
This weeks results are interesting. I don't understand any of you that crave predictable results.
i think this is a very entertaining tournament
ive never seen mark king play as good as he did on sunday. and think its very exciting that there are no masters champions at the quarters
there were no world champions at the semi finals of the 2010 worlds, and so its interesting to see who will take their chance.

Personally, i don't want to see 1 visit Snooker. It gets boring. Decent breaks, counter attacks, good safety, tension and some poor misses are what makes the game great. In the past ten years, when the game has become '1 visit Snooker,' audiences and interest has dwindled alarmingly.
I'd hazard a guess that most people prefer the game how i described it above.
Anyhow, apart from Murphy last night and King on the first day. Has their been any shocks? Ding, imo, is a better player than Williams. Not by much but it certainly wasn't a shock. Dott beat Higgins and Dott is a proven player. Mark Allen beat O'Sullivan and imo, Allen looks a better player than Ronnie.
Whats also interesting is that today in QF`s we got the 2 biggest defeats with King loosing 1-6 and Dott being beaten by 2-6 while the first natches seemed to be closer. And King just had nothing going in today from what was going in last Sunday, while Cope seemed improved; we shall see what happens next, a few more surprises could pop out
I certainly welcomed the first round results that emerged apart from ronnie losing as he did.... But in my opinion ronnies mental state wasnt right and we all know how temperamental he can be at times. Its been nice to see diff players reach the business end of the tournament for a change, perhaps this is the beginning of a new era for some players. Some of the players such as Allen have looked promising for some time, now its their turn to reap the rewards.
