Marco Fu almost had Allen behind the yellow slightly too hard and left it on the bulk line

Nothing personal against Marco Fu but i find him the most boring player to watch out the current pro's. There is just nothing about him to get excited about. It's like watching a robot, trudging around the table and no flair when he's playing shots.

We know how dangerous Fu is around the black spot, but that last frame was a masterclass of breakbuilding around the pink spot. Tremendous effort to win it in one visit.

Both players a little unlucky with position after long pots in this frame.

Marco Fu got easy openings last night, with Ebdon missing in the balls. Whereas Allen and Robertson played a lot of early frame safety, so Allen had to work quite hard to get in. With both players scoring well, I suppose that's something that could play a part today. We've already seen that there's nothing wrong with Allen's potting from distance.

Quite a good lead for Allen now, 4-1. A little lucky perhaps to see that last red drop, we've seen most of these stay out this week. Fu has had chances in most of the frames, but he needs to start taking them. Important frame coming up...
