Tickets on sale

I missed the post on the world snooker site but tickets went on sale last week !

I got tickets for the first time this year after being an arm chair viewer for years so I hope it's a good week.

If anyone knows of a good/cheap b&b please post details.

Masters I would think, Janie - they went on sale a few days ago. UK tickets have been on sale for a while, while Crucible tickets go on general public sale on October 8.

By the way we have tickets on sale for PTC 7 at South West Snooker academy. Also for the UK qualifiers at SWSA and we will also soon have tickets for the World Seniors Qualifying rounds.

Yes sorry if wasn't clear but the Masters in January.

And i'm glad the date for crucible tickets has been on the page for a while, it just seems sometimes if you don't look for a few days you can miss the start of the ticket allocation.

It seems to be first come first served in the week so hopefully should be able to get a good seat and then its allocated seating for the semis/final.

So, once you've got a ticket, you can sit where you like? Good man! Wembley Arena were always a bit funny like that. The arena would be half-empty, but you had to sit exactly where told.

I'm waiting for the matches to be announced, then I will get some tickets in for The Masters. Never been to Ally Pally before, so hopefully it's good. Even if it is a bit less convenient to get to for me.

When do we get the draw for The Masters? I'm thinking due to the new ranking system it could be a week before the event, as the top16 will have changed significantly by then.

They haven't yet, but I assume it'll be in the next couple of weeks. The top-16 they are using for the UK is the same for the Masters, and the format of play has just been announced for the UK Championship. Keep checking the site. If you're going for first round matches, I doubt they'll sell out, they rarely do.

We went to Wembly Arena a couple of years ago, but didn't really like it.

Ive been there for a gig a couple of years ago, wasnt overly keen on the venue but hopefully it'll be good for snooker! Certainly works for the darts!

I've not been to the Ally Pally, but will buy tickets for some of the first rounds in the next few weeks. I'm told it's a ******* to get to, which is the one thing Wembley did have. It was right by the tube station. But the atmosphere at Wembley was dead.

Still, I'm sure Ally Pally will be great, once you get there.

I went to the Ally Pally for the boxing a few years ago and it was a reasonable venue, just it was a Junior Witter fight and thus dull as dishwater.

The venue is next door to Muswell Hill, accessible via Highgate Station, amongst other. It's a one-mile walk up a hill and poorly signposted, but there are [plentty of hotels in the area and I reckon Wembley Way must have been a good half mile in itself.

Yeah, I've heard that's the problem with the Ally Pally. I've known people go to gigs there, and get a bus up the hill. Also with Wembley, I am 12 minutes outside of Victoria station, so I could just go there and get a tube direct. Hopefully, the Ally Pally will be worth the hassle. Because Wembley had little atmosphere at times.

Also, I expect watching Junior Witter didn't help.

My dad contacted me saying he was looking at tickets for the Masters, says about "Un-reserved seating". Is this because we've only just noticed the tickets being on sale, or is it like this for everyone? Is it just a matter of turn up early and get a good seat?

No it's the same for everyone - even at Wembley this year it was sit where you like in the early rounds. I wish they'd keep it that way for the later rounds to be honest, as it would reduce ticket touting.
