Bit of a disappointment this tournament has been I must say. Far too little excitement and close matches. And there's your prime reason for having longer matches!!! Much more possibility of luck and/or bad runs to even out in he end....

Robertson v Williams and Selby v Lee could be considered close. The quality was sub-par, however, in both of these games.
Neil hasn't been anywhere near his best and still, is very close to reach the final. Surprising for the Masters.

I have a bold prediction. Judd is going to win this 6-5.

Then again, it's early to judge the generation altogether. Perhaps someone else younger will cut it.
I doubt we'll ever see the mould of a John Higgins type player again. Trump is never going to be that kind of player, too much like Jimmy or Alex, wanting to get fans on his side rather than the single mindedness of a Hendry to be the greatest ever. If he grows up and matures his game like Ronnie did then he has a chance but I don't think the personality of him that he's likely to do that.

It just shows you that when no one is really playing at their best, you can win with heart alone. This kind of reminds me of Robertson's run to the World title, where I thought he played nowhere near his best for most of the tournament, and he would have lost convincingly against himself in better form.

Too early to predict something like that here though, because Higgins and Murphy are still very capable of producing some great snooker for us.

I guess you are right. Matchplay is losing its significance slowly, but surely.
              Sad to see this happening.

It looks like Higgins is the favourite in this situation to win it all.
But Murphy has been solid and could deny him from the final. Too close to say at this point.

Who knows. Maybe we will finally get to see the great decider in Higgins v Murphy! : )

I said that at 5-1. It's 5-3 now so obviously I'm not gonna change lol.

Robertson is getting nervy whilst Trump is fearless. I do think that the only player who can cope with Trump is Higgins tbh.

Murphy and honest john's match should be a corker tonight...

                    Fingers crossed.

To be honest this years masters hasnt gripped hold of me as most tourney's usually do, and tbh i've not watched as much as i normally do.

i personally dont think judd has the game to be a "great",in the 3 recent meeetings against ronnie(which he won,but 2 were very close matches),i think he played almost to a 100% of his capabilities, coupled together with a decent run of the balls.the style he has ,he will need to play at leat 90-95% of his maximum plus have a run of the balls, otherwise he will simlpy leave too many chances to other good players.

Wouldn't say Robertson is getting nervy yet. Trump was the one looking more nervy early on, now he has nothing to lose its a false appearance. If Trump got to 5-5 he would be nervous but I doubt Robertson will throw this lead away.

Judd will get the snookers. Just made a tenner bet with my mate. I win 40 quid if he does.
