Just noticed that every 3 matches Robertson has played in this tournament has been left-hander v left-hander -game. I wonder has this ever happened before or is it a some sort of "record"..? :P

Pity we have run out of left-handers now, the final won't be like that!

Yeah, but that red along the cushion was ridiculous. It was never in! Very lucky to have got that, as the frame wasn't won at that point.

That one hadn't made that much of a difference, though, with Higgins later missing the pink.

Murphy receives a very late Christmas present now for 5-3. Couldn't get a better table than this.

So in the end the nerves got to John Higgins as well. In the end I think Murphy was a quite deserved winner, but if Higgins had equaled the match I would have fancied him to win. An interesting match tomorrow

Well played Murphy, a deserved victory. Higgins tried his best, but these are not the early rounds anymore, and you have to play better to beat the likes of Murphy.

So, it's a Robertson-Murphy final... It's funny, Robertson, Murphy, Selby and Maguire are roughly the same age, and clearly the four outstanding players of their generation. They are approaching 30 now, and they've won almost 20 major titles between them. But if I'm not mistaken, there has never been a major final between two of these four players before, they've always played someone else.

Murphy and Maguire played in 2008 China Open final, Maguire prevailed 10-9.
