I dont judge someone until i,ve spent enough time in their company to pass judgement on them , i just cant take to people that are full of themselves whether they are world champion or local club champion . Last night, I'm sure one of Shaun Murphy's pals was shouting out just about every time he got a fluke, had a chance, or when Neil missed... so just stop berating Judd Trump, he's a great talent who will be around for the next 30 years, and doing so, becoming a multiple time World Champion so if you can't deal with him, then snooker of the future is not for you.Billiards is very similar to snooker.... except there are only 3 balls and no body watches it. :snooker:Comment

I love the way Judd plays the game, and I like watching him, probably more than anyone at the minute. BUT - am I the only one to think he comes across as a bit dim and (dare I say it?) dull? He wants this image as a modern sportsmen, a sharp shooter and slick brand - but he sounds like a yokel. And pronounce your words properly son! It's "think", not "fink"! He seems uncomfortable when being interviewed, and doesn't really say anything of interest.
Well, apart from Mark Selby, who is as interesting as a table.Comment

Giving interviews I'm guessing is a particular skill and somethink (couldn't resist) one learns and becomes more adept in over time...Comment

True, he is quite young, i guess i was a bit of a **** when i was 22! Hopefully this tournament will be a bit of a wake up that he isn't invincible - both on and off the table. He tries a bit too hard to be "it".Comment

Agree on the arrogance bit. He seems to have it more than even Ronnie or Hendry had in their younger years. They had a more healthy kind of arrogance though it seems. Trump's seems more influenced by today's fast&furious dog-eat-dog twitter-world...too bad. Hopefully he will grow up quickly and focus on his snooker instead. He really needs a coach/mentor!Comment

I think he's one of those people who has their self-worth tied up in what other people think about him. So has no confidence in himself when not being told how great he is. That's why some think of him as arrogant, I think. Because he always has to be showing off and revelling in the attention. If anything, arrogance tends to spring from underconfidence, not overconfidence.Comment

It is no doubt very difficult to be a 22 year old with the world at your feet. You cant just drop your old mates when you come into money. He's young and is enjoying it. Im sure he will be the player everyone wants him to be give it a few years.
In fairness he's a choir boy when compared tot he likes of Jimmy White as his age. H's not turning up ****ed for starters!

Now, I do like watching Judd, I think he's a real talent, but..... He is getting too big for his boots at the moment. He showed a complete lack of Neil Robertson (of what I saw of the match). He seemed to have an attitude of "whatever you try, I'm just going to blast balls in left, right, and centre, and pot you off the table". Problem was, this failed, and he didn't have a plan B for when it started going wrong. We saw at the UK he has a good safety game, but he didn't seem to think about safety shots this time. Just pot pot pot. Why he likes to whack the frame ball in beats me. It always seems that he does it to let the opponent know that is the ball that beat you.
Also, his penchant for playing "exhibition shots" before the frame is well wrapped up is a bit daft. The boy must know the angles well enough, but instead of playing a shot with side on and of one cushion to run down for the next ball, he'd rather play it with tons of screw back and side to finish in roughly the same place having gone of 3 cushions. When the frame is well won, by all means do it. but not if you're 40 or 50 ahead with 6 or 7 reds on. If he reins in his show-off side, he could put himself in the best players of all time lists by when he retires. If not, he'll end up another ultra talented underachiever, a la Alex, Jimmy, and Ronnie.If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!
