More errors from Murphy in the end.
Fascinating, but relatively low quality match, especially after the interval.

After the way this match has gone, Robertson got the maximum result from this session, a decent lead, so the pressure won't be on him right from the start this evening.

It's not super high quality, but Robertson's grit can't be faulted.

Not the best standard from either player, but Robertson appears to be handling the pressure of the occasion that much better. Still close to call, and this final still has a deciding frame written all over it..

Great first session! Pretty good standard, growing tension and a nice pace of play. Very entertaining.

Robertson seems extremely confident and probably controlled many of the safety exchanges. Will be interesting to see if Murphy can keep up and maybe impose himself a little more.

And I agree about Dennis. His commentary has become increasingly magoo lately.

Why is it that we get to a sold-out final day, more frames to b played, more people in attendance, and they not only wait til 2pm to start but shorten the interval to 15 minutes from 20?

Because it was such a close call, and even with very slow motion video they still couldn't decide, the striker always gets the benefit of the doubt, ie if you can't prove it, you can't penalise them

Just a possible heads-up. Eurosport start snooker again on 20:05, however I'm not sure whether it's live coverage or highlights of this afternoon.

                    Edit : nevermind...it's highlights.

Murphy really needs to step up a gear or two, he doesn't seem focused at all to me. At 7-4 he still has a chance, but 8-4 down would be difficult...6-5 on the other hand and all's possible again.

Robertson is starting to look good now, after Murphy's good response at the start of the session. What a frame this is for Murphy now... Desperately needs to win it.

Absolutely. A few of those missed reds from Shaun were VERY close though, and he never gives up, so even if it goes 8 - 4 I wouldn't quite count him out.

He really needs a big break to get some confidence back and put some pressure on Neil.

I'm enjoying this match. Can Murphy come back into it?

Well, Murphy has had some very memorable wins from behind, so there is no chance in hell he is going to give up. And it's not like he's playing badly, it was two brilliant shots from Robertson that decided the frame.

As good as Murphy is from behind though, I can't remember Robertson ever losing a big match from a position like this!
