Marco Fu was within the top 16 at that time in fact, and Murdock you should not forget to say that Ding also whitewashed Ebton in the 2nd round in that tournement.

Turns out I was right after all. Robertson only made it to the quarter-final and Ding self-destructed under the pressure of the crowd in the final (my exact point about inexperience, I believe). It's a shame it had to happen in that way, but I believe I was correct about the experienced player winning the masters.

As for your point, Caroline, yes Fu may have been a top 16 player when Ding won the China open, but he's hardly an all-time great, is he?
