Henderson was not a bad player though. Grand Prix finalist 1995 or 1996???
Anyway off to watch Doherty again now.
It's ok, no probs.
Euan was a decent player, he wont mind me saying, not a great one though.
He had to work very hard to get where he did in the game but think even Euan realised he'd gone as far as he could. Shame really, if you got to the top of the game by dedication and hard work alone, he'd have made the top 3!
Will always remember his 1st round match in the WC against Jimmy, he played out his skin that day and lost rather unluckily 10-9.
I actually wanted Jimmy to win that, to be fair though, I did'nt know Euan at the time. Anyway thats all in the past, he's PC Henderson now
If Ding can get past Ebdon he can get to the final. Who has Robertson got?
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman
I'd be surprised if it was Robertson vs. Ding in the final. The Masters is normally won by one of the top guys (not surprising since it's for top 16 players plus wildcards).
I know that Higgins and Williams have gone already, but Doherty, O'Sullivan, Hendry and Ebdon are all still there (plus Steve Davis - 1997 all over again?).
I would still except one of the big names to win the trophy. I know Ding has won a couple of titles, but he's yet to win a tournament when he's played big names all the way to the final (he had a fairly easy path to the final when he won the UK).
Robertson has won a tournament this season, Ding has won a tournament this season. You're saying these are not the top guys? I would disagree with you. You'll find both of them in the top 8 if not higher next season, I'm sure of it.
Yes, they've both won a tournament. But neither are very consistent yet. And winning the masters is different from any other tournament. You're guaranteed to have to beat 4 top 16 players (okay, possibly only three if you end up playing one of the wild card players in the last 16) to win the title. In many ways it's the hardest tournament to win and it tends to be won by experienced players.
That's all I'm saying. Both players have talent, but lack experience. It's only my opinion. And I may be proved wrong.
Yes, he has. But my point about the Master's is still valid. It's very hard to beat 4 top 16 players on route to the title. Much harder, perhaps, than winning a ranking tournament when other players may knock out the top players for you.

Yes he is, but I don't think you've actually read what I said. He's not very experienced - that's all I'm saying. When he won the UK, he beat Jimmy White, Paul Hunter (who was very ill at the time - I was in the audience for that match and he really struggled), Neil Robertson and Joe Perry, on route to the final against Steve Davis. It's hardly the same as if he beat 4 top 16 players on route to the title as he would in the Masters. If he won this tournament, he'd really deserve to be classed along with the very top players. Do you understand my point, Stunrunthru?
