  • Ebdon V Ding * 16/1/07

Still in the first frame.....21 minutes gone and 10 reds left

both dont look to have settled

Ebdon is at the table leading 28-16 and has a decent chance....

First frame goes to Ebdon after 1/2 an hour or so.

This could be a long night for both of them (more than likely)

Ebbo wins frame 2 with an 86 break.

          2-0 to Ebbo

If Ding doesnt get his potting boots on soon he may be in soapy bubble (trouble)

Well, 6-3 but the scoreline doesn't do justice. It was not the first time that Ding had thrown away certainly-won frames. I remember he did it when he was 8-4 up against Stevens in the UK and at 5-6 down to draw level against Ebdon in the UK Quarters. He almost did it twice tonight. Amazing!

Cap I agree you somehow on this. I think this boy is a bit too daring sometimes. I well remember how he lost that re-spot frame when at 5-6 down against Ebton, and I would suppose that only if he had played a bit more patient and/or negative in that match, he would have been able to get through and go on to defend his UK title.

                      Anyway, good win today

Good win He can win the tournament now I think
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

certainly was a good win, especially after the start he made.

IMHO, so far in the tournament ive seen 3 players play well enough to win it if they keep that form...

i watched all frames last night, and it is not ding's best form, and some shots were questionable, however, he managed to play better in the later stage.

He will learn from the mistake he did during the last two frames, i think.

agree it wasnt his best and that he made a couple of errors that could have proved costly, but going down 2-0 to ebbo, especially given his recent form last tournament it was a good win.

IMHO, Robertson, O'Sullivan + Ding have all played well enough so far that if they keep their form and get some "run" then they could win it without upping more gears (much)

                              good tourney so far......
