BBC are stunned too, showing some prerecorded stuff about Jimmy White and Ding Junhui. "15 mins break" is the official latest. Apparently Ding is in the dressing room of Ronnie's.

Ding has had chances, he could be down 7-5 instead of 9-3, but he picked a few bad shots that ordinarily wouldn't be so ruthlessly punished if he was playing anyone other than Ronnie. I think he undoubtedly has the game to challenge right at the top, but maybe his timidness away from the table has given a false impression of his composure, and under this pressure he's finally cracked.
Nice to see Ronnie offer immediate support to him, and I hope he can rally at least a frame or two before the final ends, and that the crowd don't turn on him for his immaturity.

When I praised Ding's show of "human-like traits", this was NOT what I had in mind! Hope he finishes in style.
What's not fair, I have said it exactly like it is. Ding had given up, you could tell that from his shot selection and break off. Shame to see but it questions his temperament. He showed a similar sort of attitude earlier in the season when he played Jimmy White in the premier snooker league. He lost heavily that night too and it seems he can't take defeat very well at all.

It seems he doesn't like it when he plays in a crowd when a lot of the fans are one sided in their support. Well Ding, you had better get used to it because if the fans know you have a weakness you will never beat the likes of Ronnie or some of the other crowd favourites again.
