I dont really buy this "Selby doesnt suit Ronnie" talk. He lost today cause he missed balls he normally dont miss, not because Selby put him in tough spots. He would have lost to any top player today.

There is a psychological element in snooker though. ROS looked resigned to defeat long before the match was over today, and Selby has a history of grinding Ronnie down in important matches (3 finals and 2010 World).

Likewise there are some players who seem to fall apart when they play ROS. Ding and Maguire should do better considering their reputations.

I don't think he would have lost to 'ANY TOP PLAYER' today, it's just selby get's in his head..

Would have been a different ron today if it was mags he was playing.

Not good really but once a player effects you like that it can be very difficult and very hard to overcome, as it seems to be proving with ron most times he plays selby these daze.

Ronnie was awful tonight lets face it, i think he does have battle scars against Selby, especially the Masters final and the World championship match he lost to him. Ronnie obviously wasnt looking forward to the match from his comments yesterday.

Ronnie mentally lost the match before it started is my view. Selby did nothing special, just mopped the balls up after ronnie missed mostly.

6-2 was a fair scoreline IMO. Selby was overwhelmingly the better player tonight, even though he was very poor by his standards.

A horrible match in every way. To his credit Selby was very honest in his BBC post match interview when he said it was a very strange match and he had the better run of the ball. Both Terry Griffiths and his protege Selby felt they needed to apologise for the match!

Clive explained the situation as.... after Ronnie said to the press he thought Selby was boring, he felt bad and tried to contact Mark to apologize. Mark wasn't receptive though and said "he would rather chew glass than talk to that prat", or something like that.

I would have liked to see Ronnie go through, but like everybody has said he just wasn't at the races and Selby did what needed to win!!

Bloody typical......got all my chores done and sat down to watch this match............terrible match.....wish i hadn't bothered . If i had things to do and hadn't watched ...it would have been a cracker . Fell asleep near the end .

It's the same on the rare occassion that i want to watch a certain football match ......and it's nearly always a rubbish game .

Won't be watching the Final .....working and out for a few frames this evening ..........so it's bound to be a cracker
