    • I can't decide whether to hit Patsy Fagan or hug him...some of the time he annoys me to no end, other times he's rather amusing.

Well, in terms of attacking power, Brazil 1982 is way too good for Brazil 1994 ( actually for any other football team in the history ), but they didn't win it.
But Brazil 1994, still a lot more extravagantly entertaining than any other team at that time, won WC.

I guess it applies to the snooker, as well.

          • Huge blow for Hendry. He really needed to take care of that one.

Could not agree more! Long matches always give the player the option to have 1-2 good sessions, a comeback is always a possibility. Lots of twist and turns, I love watching that. With the 7 frames format, it is just far too short imo! But that's sign of the times...everything needs to be fast&furious nowadays

That statement implies that you believe the breakbuilding side of the game to be more skillful than the tactical side, or have I misunderstood you?

Judging from an earlier reply to one of my posts, I'd say yeah chances are LittleMiss believes exactly that...

                      • I would say break building is on par with safety side, requiring more skill than potting, which, for me, is the easiest thing if you keep the cue ball under control. And when it comes to tough pots, we see a lot of players getting them, but not many of those take their chances as well as they should, lacking a strong break building skill.
And if you don't have the tactical side, well, you usually don't get good opportunities thrown at you, especially if your opponent is strong in that department.

                        • After all, superior potting skills leave you at some stage of your career. At least, you're not going to constantly knock those impossible balls in. You hearing me, Judd?

                            • normally older players are better tacticians and younger players are better potters and break builders i suppose its an experience thing combined with a natural fearlessness

You're comparing one shot to an entire break? Well, if you could make a century with one shot then yes, that would be extremely skillful.
