As I said above, lets say that a SEEDED player wins.

Well do another thread once we know the qualifiers.

The problem with Ebdon is that he basically has one good tournament a season, if at all, and that was the China Open. When he won it in 2009, he went on to lose in the 1st round of the WC to Nigel Bond, and quite convincingly as well. So I wouldn't include him among the big contenders. He certainly is a dangerous qualifier though.

I generally agree that there are a lot of players with a decent chance. We seem to repeat this every year, talking about how open the tournament is. But I still think there are three or four players that stand out as immediate contenders. I would prefer to wait for the qualifiers to finish before I get into it though.

Joking about John Parrott aside, how far do people really think he can go? Will he get knocked out at the first attempt, or does he have a run in him? (In the qualifiers even if not at the venue.)

I sense John Higgins could come good again, yes he has had a poor season by his own very high standards, but i suspect he will be in the right frame of mind and put a good fight in defending his title. If it's not Higgins year then i feel Ding is in with a big shout. Last year was his big break-through in terms of playing to a consistently high standard at the Crucible, and i do not see any reason why he cant replicate that form and possible go one step further. Still in saying all that there is a good handful of players who are in with a great chance so who knows..

O'S vs Murphy or Maguire final, O'S to win.

Would love to see Stephen Hendry win it again, but think that Ding has a great chance.

                  I hope not.

I'd like to see Ding in the final, but it probably won't happen.

Not checked the draw, but if that's possible I'd be very happy to see that line-up.

Sorry mate but Ding, Selby n Robertson are in the same bottom half draw, so only 2 of them can get through! I've replaced Selby with Maquire

I had a feeling they were, which is why I said that. I couldn't be bothered to double check the draw.
