  • Only ONE Table for whole Tournament ?

I had a look at the first round schedule here

    http://snooker.org/res/index.asp?event=102

I couldn't see any matches on at the same time

Does this mean there is only one table being used for the whole event ?

Looking at the list, match 1 and match 11 are both on at the same time ( then 2 & 12 etc ) .

Just not listed very clearly as far as times are concerned.

I can't imagine. How would they get all the matches in?

The matches are listed as being played two at a time; they're just not next to each other in the draw.

Don't forget they are two-session matches. It looks like they have only given the times of the first session of each match.

It is traditionally only the Sunday evening which has both matches to a finish (which is why it is not showing on that list) and, obviously, the first session has to be two starts (which is why that's the one that's shown twice).

maybe first session of first match is one table and one first session one second session the rest of the way through

Yes, exactly right - see my post above.

The first session (obviously) has to be two starts, after that they make sure that one table is on a first session and the other is on a second session.

With the curious exception of the Sunday evening which always has two matches to a finish. You then don't get two finishes together until the middle Monday, to conclude the second round.

The second session is always two starts as well - otherwise, one match would have to start in session 1 and finish in session 2. That's why two matches have to finish on the Sunday evening.

two matches concluding at the same time gives scope to two ten nils ? one frame on each table in the second session thats why its done that way
