I think Hendry will be happy drawing Bingham ,hendry could of drawn alot of the top seeds who would of made mince meat out of him , but Bingham has gone of the boil since winning down under and i fancy Hendry to win this one

COuld be a very good first round.

Feel for Hendry, manages to avoid all the big names only to draw the guy that has a nasty habit of beating him at Sheffield.
Surely Robertson will give Ken Doherty a good going over!

Also Higgins will probably walk past Wenbo. Just have a feeling it will be something like a 10-2.

Just saw the draw for the 1st time...

Man o man...this looks like a cracker! I'm really going to enjoy this head-to-head...interesting to see how Ronnie is going to cope.

O'S Ebdon isn't actually that interesting for me cos if O'S applies himself properly he's in round 2,maybe Maguire Brecel or Allen Yupeng are the standout weak matches but I haven't watched Yupeng so thats just a guess. Lee Higginson is a gooden too as Ronnie predicts Higginson's a bonafide top 16 player or something like that, didn't get the exact quote.

Ebdon-O'Sullivan is a disappointment. I don't really want to lose either of those guys in Round 1. Other than that, it looks like a very good draw.

Murphy V Jones; Maguire V Brecel; Ding V Day; Robertson V Doherty; Stevens V Fu - all should be cracking matches.

A good draw for Hendry as well, in my opinion. I think he'll win.
Also a good draw for Higgins - can't see Wenbo threatening him at all.

                Let's get it on!

For those people who didn't listen to talksport earlier , Barry Hearn was on there saying that the Luca Brecel situation is a bit of a nightmare to World Snooker because there is now massive interest in him on the Continent because he will be at the crucible and yet he will be off the main tour next season unless he reaches the semi final , surely there's someway to get him back next season ?

I can imagine what a nightmare it must be.

But to be fair, Brecel has made history, breaking a record held for 26 years. He's the youngest player to ever qualify for the Crucible. That alone deserves another wildcard for next season, in my opinion.

I'm just hoping Ebdon doesn't destroy Ronnie's spirit.

For me Ebdon plays deliberately slow in a bid to unsettle his opponents.
This is ungentlemanly as well as obviously boring and unentertaining, which is a shame for the fans.

Have to agree with you on this. Although Ebdon has been slowing his play down "naturally" (that can be discussed as well) over the past season(s), he does seem to to slow it down even more especially to get his opponents out of their natural game / rhythm.

And when even Peter then is faltering, because of his excessively slow play, then you have to wonder his intentions. Personally I do not like it. Even though one might call it tactics...

                          I'm definately rooting for Ronnie...

Im expecting Ronnie to give Peter a good rinsing! I didnt see all of the final between Ebdon and Maguire, but from the bits I did see Peter's slow play def put Maguire out of his stride. Its got to the stage where it takes Peter around 8-10mins to make a frame winning break, and in real pressure situations it is almost impossible for him to be more composed by playing slower - as he is still prone to putting in a really quick one on his final backswing.
