  • Schedule Disaster for Stephen Hendry

Stephen Hendry flew out to China today for some exhibitions and won't be returning to the UK until Friday.

Unfortunately, as he has drawn Stuart Bingham, he is due to play his first session at 2:30pm on Saturday!

Not the wisest preparation for the game's biggest event?

I thought it was an odd move so close to Worlds when I learned he's going to China. No chance he's going to recover for his first round match now that it's turned out to start on Saturday. Not the smartest choice he's ever done.

I saw that he was going out to China to do some exhibitions, but that's definitely not the best preparation for your 1st round match at WC having just returned from China on a long haul flight....

I did see that he also played a match against Jimmy at the Legends tours in Preston straight after his win at the qualifiers the other day.....

That's some serious mileage he's been putting in lately....

Fair play to him, I wouldn't mind doing it as a job!!

He also played Jimmy at the Legends on Friday night at the Crucible and played really well. Hopefully all this snooker is making him get more confidence and play better. He'll obviously be flying first class so shouldn't have any problems sleeping!

How on earth did he manage that ! Must be on a few £££££'s to fly out . Did he not fly out for a day a few weeks ago ?

There's a Scottish footballer with the same name.

Weird move but Hendry knows what he's doing

He is playing well and has a good chance against Bingham

The exhibitions will give him some good practice

I went to the Legends tour in Preston on the 15th, he played some superb snooker after traveling from his qualifiers, I wished him the best of luck for the Cruicible and he seemed happy and thanked me, such a nice person. I really am hoping he does well.

Stephen Hendry wouldn't be doing this if he believed he'd win The Crucible, in my opinion. Why take that risk? You could just as easily fly out and play exhibition matches after The Crucible had finished.

I too am hoping he does well at The Crucible, first match agains John Higgins won't be easy though, a tough draw!

OOOOps - of course his first match is Stuart Bingham - senior moment!!
