Davis has a decent chance of progressing through to the second round, but in saying that I would say this is a pretty even contest, and could very well go the distance.

Meanwhile Ding leads Day 7-6. Ding looks the stronger of the two, and can see him winning the match quite comfortably from here on in.

May I suggest placing a 100 quid or so bet on Carter to win in order to be happy either way.

Exactly so putting 100 quid on Carter means you are guarenteed to win at least 50 quid profit for your tenner bet.

It is a no lose bet.

You could even decide to choose a guaranteed win.

Carter is 4/7 with Betfred so lets say he is 1/2 just to make the maths easier and that you stand to win exactly 1000 if Davis wins.

If you bet 660 pounds on Carter to win then you will definately win about 330 quid regardless of the matches outcome.

Of course you could lower or raise the Carter bet dependent on confidence of the result.

Not trying to push you into making big bets, just letting you know that you have the option to essentially cash out for 330 now if you wanted.

                        (I think)

                        • 1What a chance for Ryan that was, could be a match turner, great shot by Ding on the red with the rest! I'm the type to want to see the big names in the quarter finals onwards, 3 or 4 qualifiers in round 2 is good news, but I want established experienced pros (at least nearly all) in the quarter finals, that's what makes the Worlds for me, long matches, the best in the world all playing each other and the best on form!

                          • Andrew Higginson is one of my closest friends and I'm delighted he beat Lee he deserves it. I've seen the hard work he has put in over the last 14 years or so and though he struggled at first he really has come on over the last 18 months or so.
No one will look forward to playing him here he is under no pressure. It's also true to say he is one of the nicest people you could wish to meet he really is. good luck to the west bank tank

                            • Yeah too many upsets suck because the upseters cannot keep up the level and you end up with one sided matches later on

the top players need to get through but they won't be playing their best snooker in the early rounds

We had a good one last year with some great matchups later on in the tournament

so far only Murply losing is not cool with me. Don't care about Dott, Allen or Lee

I want to see Judd, Ding and Selby get through

exactly, couldnt agree more! Judd Ding and Selby need to go through for the tourney's sake, Selby has some serious work to do now though, Ding showing that little bit of class (for want of a better word), that the top players have, by that I mean the very top players, the top 8 players, the ability to turn it on when they are behind, not just when they are flying and playing great! It's high time Ding got to a final, if anyone apart from Higgins or Ronnie wins it, it should be Ding for me, he's too good to not win the Worlds, considering what else he's won!
