I think the last time I have been this shocked at how well a player has played in a single session was when Jimmy did the exact same thing to Stephen in the first round all those years ago.

You mean the one where Stephen came back from 17-8 or something behind to win 18-17? The one that basically prevented Jimmy from ever again having the self-believe that he could ever be World Champ...sad days. I really felt for Jimmy back then.

no he means when jimmy qualified in something like 2004 (correct me if I'm wrong)
Watching Higgins vs Wenbo, perhaps Higgins wants this type of frame with black over right corner pocket, keeps Wenbo out of rhythm, grinds him down a bit, maybe gets him frustrated, doesnt have to be pretty, World Champs, u win however u can!!
Believe me or not, I'm still yet to see a televised 147 live on TV.
Bingham was so out of sorts and Ken was playing nicely on the other table, so, I had been watching Robertson-Doherty by that time.
Curse continues..
All the way Mark J!!

Hendry had been in every final since forever and Jimmy was looking sadly over the hill and having to qualify only to draw the man who had made his life miserable at the crucible for years.
There was only for certain...
And then Jimmy went and blew Stephen away 8-1 in the opening session.
I remember it vivivdly as after 10 years of watching and hoping that Jimmy could be world champion (and finally accepting it was never going to happen) he turned up in 1998 and for the opening two rounds was the best player at the tournament by a million miles.
This then renewed that vain hope that finally we may see the Year of Jimmy White only for him to burn out against Ronnie in the Quarters.
Allen misses a relatively simple pink cutback and hands Cao the second frame. 0-2 now.
Thanks for the heads-up. Well played to Cao then! Keep us posted please if that match becomes really worthwhile...might wanna switchover then from the Higgins match.

You're welcome (=
I don't know if Cao can keep up with Allen as the match progresses, but I can say he has a good temperament so far.
