I think Higgins-Liang has been a really interesting match. Higgins is struggling, and he just has that look about him, like he expected it to be easier.
But Liang has played pretty well though, not much of his trademark recklessness so far. It will be interesting to see if he can hold his nerve at the business end of the match now.

The BBC cut their freeview TV coverage half way through the final session, to show "In it to win it" the same crappy quiz show they're showing on BBC1.
Way to go boys.

Well so far what we have seen today, apart from Robertson against Doherty, all the players who have qualified look far stronger than the seeded player. I actually think that this year we may well see more qualifiers get through than seeds in the first round. Its not that the qualifiers are necessarily better players but I think the standard to qualify means that they are much better prepared than the seeds and the fact that they have nothing to lose.
IMO Hendry would never have played that well had he come here without the match practice and preparation, so being outside the top 16 has ironically given him a genuine chance of winning the title. Ebdon won China as a qualifier, who'd bet against another qualifier winning the WC title this year!
