First...go and find the 'edit' button.

    Secondly...not a clue what you're on about

    Thirdly...on with the WC...

    • Btw nice piece on Shaun Murphy's WC from 2005...always the gentleman.

Also nice to see the conclusion of the Gilbert-Gould match, which I hadn't seen. David was so happy that he punched the air after a fluke that effectively won him the match. You could see him regretting that immediately and apologising to Gould after the match finished. Nice fellow he seems David...I had never seen him before.

He does, played well too, its understandable for him, its a massive moment in his career, that one win could set him up for the vast majority of next year ranking wise, well done to him!

If it had been based on Guodong's total (64th place on two year list), or in fact even Paul Davidson's last season total (lowest ranked PTC qualifier except Igor), then Cao would jump to at least 62nd if he beat Allen and on the tour still.

It would also mean that David Morris, Sam Craigie and Luca Brecal would also have survived as Yan and Morris would have made top 64 giving Craigie and Brecal the PTC places (or possibly Wattana would have survived via PTC).
Not sure if evaluating the rankings is much more than sizing up a dogs dinner until they get rid of the tiered points system, there's no tiered system in the ptc's then do the same for all with everyone starting in the same round. :-)

Yes that was nice, Gould took it very well under the circumstances, a lot of players would have been right arsey over it, but he obviously understood Gilbert's excitement.

            The fast and the furious,
            The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

Yes forgot to mentioned that, Gould did take it very well as you said. Nice of him to see things in light of the momentous occassion for David.

Meanwhile Yupeng is steaming towards a 9-5 lead!

                  • The ref needs to have some bottle and sort out the crowd on the Murphy Jones table, every shot nearly it's noise and laughter, for goodness sake folks there's another match on, I can understand a funny moment but this is a bit of a mickey take, meanwhile Allen is as good as out, Cao with another century, very impressive stuff from him!

                      • What was happening on the Murphy/Jones table? Was watching matey knock in a century on the other table and couldn't be bothered to go on the red button.

He does, thought Trump was favourite (even if I wouldn't have him as fave, Higgins for me), just because of last year, he doesnt HAVE to play terribly well to win, and if he does he can win anyway! Looks like Allen got a nightmare of a draw first round!

I agree in general, however as the match between Allen and Yupeng was not exactly at a crucial point in a frame, I think it was fair to let things be for now.

Would like to see what all the hubbub was about...seemed like something pretty funny was going on there...

10 reds on table, jones on 60 odd when I looked, all I can think of is maybe a streaker? It was a bit much noise, see my post! lol
