I think Ding was trying to use an excuse for letting a 9-6 lead slip away. For me I don't see how his comments aren't considered bad enough to warrant a warning or disrepute charge. Calling the fans rubbish and saying the conditions were rubbish are hardly doing the game any good. It was a blatant attack on the British fans as well because he referred to that people say Chinese fans are bad but this was worse, he insinuated it was because he was chinese that they were giving him abuse!
I've lost a lot of respect for Ding and I actually don't think that mentally he is strong enough to cope with the pressures on him, especially in the big events. He has certainly done himself no favours now from the british public who are likely to take offence at his comments and could end up regretting this outburst and show of disrespect to the fans.
