  • Stephen Hendry V John Higgins

    Bright and early, 10am tomorrow.

    THE CLASH OF THE TITANS!

Higgins is favourite on paper, but Hendry was awesome in the first round.

I believe this is the most decorated match in Crucible history. Hendry and Higgins share 11 world titles between them. John Pullman v Fred Davis (1977, first round) shared 10 world titles. Higgins v Davis (2010) shared 9.

Hendry and Higgins also have 60 ranking titles between them.

    Enjoy!

Threadjacking a bit, but have Hendry and Davis never meet each other at the cruicible, as there could have been more world titles involved ?

They have met at the Crucible but it was before Hendry had won his first world championship.

If they met today, yes it would be a record.

OK thanks. Anyway it will be a very interesting match. I hope they both find their A-game.

I missed the entire first session of Hendry's first round (was at the Hearts match). Managed to catch the second session. Unfortunately I'll be struggling to see the three sessions in the second round because I've got an essay due in on Monday and I'll be in a library in another city...I'll have it on in the background on the BBC site though.

Actually, I might record the sessions if they are on live on the BBC or Eurosport and avoid looking at the scores though it will be difficult to resist checking.

It's been a fantastic tournament so far in terms of shocks and I'd love nothing more than for Hendry to win against Higgins. Then you really could talk about him being a contender (which is not something I thought I'd ever say again).

At this stage 25 years ago, Stephen Hendry (18 years old) defeated Steve Longworth 13-7.

Meanwhile John Higgins, an 11 year old from Wishaw, was enjoying an ice cream.

Hi i woud think that Higgins will win against Stephen Hendry however if Hendry starts winning at the start of the match he has a great shot of winning against Higgins

I am routing for Hendry and at one stage was thinking of quiting snooker

Let's hope the first session isn't a runaway, as i'm at work and will probably miss it. If Hendry can perform like in the first round it will be a good match, but Higgins is granite. He can win this championship not playing his best.

Higgins is the obvious favorite to win, but you never know. If he plays poorly, Hendry may stick to him for a couple of sessions.

Stephen is the best ever...probably. For me, this is the reason I could never warm up to the guy

                              http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/bendirs/2...s_winning.html

But then again, it is this kind of mentality that brought him all the titles. As for Higgins, I used to like the guy until the betting scandal. So, I am not really that bothered that I am at work. Maybe I will be sorry later, when this matches produces some amazing snooker
