Also, Hendry was a more controlled player. Yes, he went for his shots. But he didn't play the kind of kamikaze shots Trump plays. Ironically though, as Davis (or someone?) mentioned this week, you probably have more chance of getting away with those shots than a controlled attempt.
Well said, all great sportsmen have an aura when they're playing well, and might play well, ie Phil Taylor at darts, one of the biggest auras going, as good as unbeatable on form, on top form unplayable, also was about to say those differences between Trump and Hendry style of play, stephen's doing it, HE'S DOING IT!!!!

94% pot success for Hendry, 92% for Higgins.

And people were moaning about the quality of this match!

        Superb stuff.

yeah I agree, the standard this year is as high as it's ever been, depth wise in terms of player's standards it's higher, looking like haven house is gonna be getting a shed load of money!!

Without any doubt the best quality match of the championship thus far!!!

I'm curious to know, when was the last ranking event title Hendry has won?

Great match, should go down to the wire

Really enjoying it. Wish this was a semi final

I do feel Hendry needs a 5-3 lead going into tonite

34 centuries so far in tournament. Don't think the record will be broken with the likes of Ding, Allen, Selby, Murphy all out first round (despite there being other prolific breakbuilders still in the mix). Expect the final tally to be in the high 60s

Hendry could have had 4 or 5 centuries this morning.

Higgins blew up a great chance to go level. Hendry holds a deserved lead and if Higgins keeps playing at this gear, he has got all the chance to win this match.

I agree, which he now has, Higgins needs his very best it appears to win this, cant believe Hendry and seemingly doing this great form AGAIN, unlike him in recent years, in with a big shout of winning the title should he keep this form up all the way through! He's just got a standing ovation from me, cant wait for tonight's session, now to watch Robertson and Gilbert!

It's the absolute best Hendry's played for years! Pleasure to witness.

The depressing thing with Hendry though is that you wait for the next session knowing that pretty much anything is possible from him beating Higgins with a session to spare to finding himself 11-5 down by the end of the day.

Hope he keeps this up though.
