  • I didn't get to watch the session but I hear Higgins played terribly. Doesn't really mean much that Hendry also played badly he didn't need to try by the sound of it.

We'll just have to see how he plays in the quarters to make a judgement on whether he can win the championship or not.

Graeme Dott played just as poorly if not worse in his match against Perry but nobody was saying that was dodgy. I just think that Higgins heart hasn't been in the game this season. I think he has had a lot to deal with what with his father passing away and other off table stuff he's probably had to deal with. We don't know what goes on in the players private lives, calling into question someones reputation having already been stung by a dirty trick by the NOTW is also stupid. He'd never take a risk like that knowing it would end his career.

Mud sticks, rightly or wrongly. Plenty will think it's dodgy. Heck, I'm watching a thread on his performance on a football forum and it's all they're talking about.

          • He's been rubbish all season, not that rubbish, but rubbish none the less. Hendrys play in the first session was enough to put him under pressure, Hendry will need to up his game though, Magurie is one of the form players.

But that's on a football forum, they obviously don't know a lot.

Higgins never actually fixed any matches, he was just deceived into an agreement.

              • I agree with those who are suspicious of this match.

With regard to 147s, Hendry stated: "No-one's ever made one against me, I would hate it - I wouldn't be genuinely happy for them," says the Scot, playing in his 27th straight World Championship.

What about the 147 that Tony Meo made against him in the Matchroom league (at Guildford I think) on 20th February 1988!

Well said, but as you know...there is not only flower in the gardens

                  • People get carried away now and again with hendry, talking about him even winning this event. Hes not playing well at all, aside from a few centuries and the 147.

Higgins is missing a lot of questionable balls, reminds me of the davis match he seemed to throw.

Hendry will need to up his game by 80% to have any chance of winning more than 5 frames against osullivan etc.

                    • John seems quite content on 4 frames. 13-4 hendry was 125-1 at the start!!

                        No, stop disrespecting Higgins.

                          • I think Higgins' poor play infected Hendry a bit in this session. Generally, Hendry is hitting the ball sweetly.

Phenomenal result on the cards, though.

                            12-4... WOW.

Me too. First one was rather disappointing.
Hendry's game dropped down significantly by the evening session, as well, not to mention Higgins has been awful from the start.

I don't think Mark or Ronnie will leave us in agony by not showing up.
                              All the way Mark J!!
