86% pot success and Mark still shouldn't feel that bad about being 5-3 down, I guess.
    All the way Mark J!!

Anyhow, this match is looking set to continue nicely and we could get ourselves some great entertainment, if we're lucky.

Yes, but he stole that frame on a Ronnie miss, not by a fluke. And actually, he had to make a clearance to win it, whereas Ronnie had two balls to be potted after the fluked green.
But fair enough. Mark had his lucky moment when he went for the yellow and snookered Ronnie after the miss.

What a great session of snooker to watch.

These two players are really something special.

Was more for some of the clever shots theyed played, Mark in particular. There's not many players who could have been 3-2 there on ronnie without making big breaks.

Ronnies touch on some shots was different class. Even in 1st frame when laying a snooker on the pink. Great to watch. When Mark stole the 4th frame and then went 3-2 up was a real test for Ronnie, Ronnie knew he let slip a chance to get an early lead.

I think it's a warning to the rest of the field now that Ronnie is up for this, and he hasn't hit 3rd gear yet :snooker:

Yes, Williams will be happy to have avoided the whitewash as early as the first frame. He just needs another frame now to force a third session. I think he has a chance!

Williams will be disappointed losing that last frame with O'Sullivan fluking the green, though he's still well in the match. The one thing he needs to do is win the first frame when they resume tommorrow, or otherwise Williams may find it difficult to hold onto O'Sullivan's coat-tails..

Mark just isn't THAT good a player anymore, because if his lack of scoring. His last hurrah as a genuine great player was around 2010/early2011. Won the China Open, German Masters and had a few finals. Should have beaten Higgins in the final of the UK and semi finals of the world as well but bottled it both times.

Hope he can get back to where he was though.

he wont admit this but the last two close finals after leading comofrtably and the two close matches lost against higgins after having already potted match ball in one that have hurt his confidence in his ability and scoring big time

no player can forget such chances after having not once but many times and bottled it

                              5-3 is about right

4-4 would have been flattering to Williams

I think he half played the cocked hat double keeping the white in safeish place...

I agree it wouldn't have been justice for Mark to be 4-4. Ronnie nearly scored double the points during the session....

I think Mark might even be the happiest of the two because Ronnie missed frame ball to go 3-1 up at the interval. Mark could have easily been 6-2 down if Ronnie had of won the frame to go 3-1 up.
