This is very impressive, O'Sullivan's best form of the season. He won the German Masters with some incredible determination and a bit of form, but he seems to have more firepower this week. He just might push Robertson all the way.
Robertson is no Williams, so, there is no way O'Sullivan brings same kind of form into that match. He probably plays this kind of outrageous snooker against only one other, and that guy is named Hendry.
All the way Mark J!!

Well, unlikely that these last two frames will make a difference, but I'm sure O'Sullivan was looking for 12-4. Tomorrow is another day...
A bit unfortunate that O'Sullivan is in this quarter really. On this form, I would have made him a heavy favourite to get through any part of the draw, except this one. I think his match against Robertson could decide the World champion, just like the Higgins-Selby quarter-final did in 2009. A shame it's not a four-session match...
I know it's quite irrelevant, but this is exactly what I said to myself when Mark J led John 9-5 in UK final (=
Anyway, since the comeback is quite unlikely, Mark should relax and try to take it easy tomorrow. There is no reason to put pressure on yourself when you're down at 11-5, so, why bother? Play your laid-back game, Mark J, and play something to make you feel better in the end.

yeah but in the uk final he acutally potted the match ball but his carelessnees cost him the match
That's what you get when you don't put Osullivan under any pressure.

Yes, but to be fair in judgement, you generally don't see Ronnie potting 80% of long balls he takes. Mark's inability to take up the chances he got early in the session was costly.

Well getting the last couple of frames has made a huge difference for Williams, I don't think it's over yet, O'Sullivan could turn up tomorrow and play horribly, he had lost his rhythm in the last two frames of that session after all.

????
think the break came at right time as ronnie was losing a bit of concetraion but had fancied him to finish the match if they would have continued,
provided he loses he cue, his snooker brain, arms, legs then mark has a chance but firsty williams isnt a good pressure player anymore, secondly ronnie is experinced enough to get through. he is not stevens, gould or other players who blew big leads
if he had played higgins or selby, then i would have had doubts but come on no chance he will lose tomorrow. think williams knows it also.ronnie can afford to lose the first session 1-3 and be still in control
but it is good when u believe that ur fav player wins.

First of all, I don't think Mark Williams is going to win, there is probably about a 5% chance of that happening.
However, Ronnie gets pretty careless sometimes when he needs to close out games, granted this is usually against younger, less experienced players who he underestimates going into the match but still he is known for doing it.
Momentum can change pretty quickly in snooker, O'Sullivan played pretty badly in the last couple of frames in that session considering how he had been playing for the rest of the session, after he had won the first six frames I fully expected him to get the last two as well, he had everything going for him and he was doing nothing wrong but suddenly he started playing erratically and lost the last two frames
Just shows how quickly things can change, the thing is, when Ronnie is as well as what he did this afternoon in a tournament he usually wouldn't have any problems in a situation like this, his mind is obviously very focused and therefore I expect him to take the match before the mid session interval tomorrow, but there is still an outside chance that it goes wrong for Ronnie and that's where the 5% comes from in my mind.
There is no reason to exaggerate things or do something along the lines of that. Chances of Williams getting back at this one still exists, albeit at a very slim percentage. It's a very outside chance, but it's a chance.
I tend to avoid using the term "impossible". There is nothing impossible, especially when two humans play a game that has some kind of luck factor also included in it.
With a scoreline of 12-0, I'd still avoid calling it "impossible". Even then, the slightest of the chances is there, possibly %0.00001 or something like that.
In this case, scoreline suggests 5% to 10% chance of a comeback. So, as you might have already come to this conclusion, it's a very small chance and by reaching 12 early in the session, O'Sullivan may push it down to somewhere around 1% quickly.
I've never seen O'Sullivan not bringing up his focus to a match against Williams, so, yes, I don't think he's going to throw away his lead tomorrow.
But against any other opponent, perhaps with the exclusion of Hendry also, there is a really good chance that Ronnie gets uninterested and thrashes his whole lead. Say, it's out of respect for Hendry and Williams, or rivalry, I don't know. All I know he really isn't a forgiving player when it comes to those two.
I'm not going to say he's going to win 13-5, 13-6 or 13-8. It all depends on how both of them will play tomorrow. It may be as early as the interval or it may get prolonged. You never know.
All the way Mark J!!
