    • Wow i thought judd had such good bottle as well. It just shows you what expectations can do to you. Now i won't feel too bad after playing badly in a match after a great practice session :@)

      • Great win for Ali, Crucible classic, I think that may turn out to be the match of the tournament, if not then I HAVE to see the one that out does it! Fancy Carter in the Quarter Final now, he'll be desparate to cash in so to speak on his win!

        • By far the best session of snooker in the tournament so far, great tension on both tables.

I don't think I've ever seen any top player bottle it as bad as Trump in a big match before, what a red he missed! His play under pressure was rock solid in the UK, as well as in last year's WC, particularly against Ding.

Well done to Carter and Stevens, both have an excellent chance to reach the semi-finals now.

              • Incredible climax to a fantastic match. Well done to Carter for holding his nerve when it counted.

                Hard luck Judd.

                • Not very controversial imo. Shame 80% of the press conference deals with Trump and his luck, instead of dealing with Ali's good win.

Also in general I think all players should be cautious with press conferences because you can just hear the reporters trying to pull some sort of juicy quote out of Ali...like they did to a certain degree with Allen.

I think every player should just focus on his own performance, and try not to get carried away or getting tricked into saying negative stuff about your opponent.

                    • Great result for Ali when under the pressure how can they even consider moving the world championships from Sheffiled when you get close matches like that you could see the pressure and disapointment on Judd's face while sat in his chair and also the pressure on Ali's as well great match lads. you did the Cruciable proud

                        Imagine if he'd lost!

Fully echo this. You cannot beat a crucible crowd and match, there is no way that tension and excitement would come through if they took the WC over to China. Even many other venues in the UK would struggle to compete with the level of drama so please don't ever move the WC from the crucible, its THE home of snooker.

                            • Ali shouldn't really have done that...it was sour grapes over all the flukes he thought Judd had gotten...which really Judd had pretty much. But still...pretty sarcastic from Ali...understandable though in the heat of battle.

As far as Judd calling it childish behaviour...I guess he is entitled to say something after all the negative things Ali said in his press conference, so no harm done imo. I also think Judd did real well and not say too much about Ali. Think he is actually really gutted about losing this time, especially with his self acclaimed poor performance this year at The Crucible. I think it was a good 'lesson' for Judd actually, a hard one but necessary maybe to grow. I think Judd will grow and mature in this game, and will be a much better player and person for it in a couple of years time.

                              • Delighted for Ali after a very tough couple of years with his well documented health issues.

Today he proved he's a top player with plenty of bottle.
