If Trump didn't get away with that amazing fluke snooker, probably it was frame over. Probably, of course, but a very good probability. In O'Sullivan's case, it just netted him the frame. It would be the same if he went for the shot, missed it and miraculously get away with such a pacey shot.
Luck just happens, it's totally irrelevant what the game situation is/was/becomes. You can fluke the pot, fluke the position, or do both. In judd's case he fluked position (snooker), in ronnies case he fluked position (black came back to a pottable position) .. so, it was the same thing in terms of "luck". It meant more to Judd than it did to Ronnie, but so what?

    • Good to see Ronnie sticking up for Judd in the press, and the statement 'fame comes with haters' has never been so true, I don't understand why people are turning on Trump, he's got natural flair and has turned on people to the game, and has not been afraid to push the boundaries. People who think its all fluke wanna look inside themselves for problems, its quite sad.. but I'm glad I'm with the likes of Ronnie and the rest who know how good he is from watching him play.
The only reason Carter took that match was that Trump wasn't in his normal form and I'm sure deep down he knows that.
Also good to see Trump being the man in the situation in interviews even tho Carter is ten years his senior.

Everyone wanted another player like Ronnie in the game.. stop moaning now that he is here!!!

      • The only reason people are turning on Judd is that for once a young and inexperienced player with a rather one dimensional game has been very successful, most players start out like this nowadays but the difference is Judd is so good at it he has succeeded.

They don't seem to understand that his game is bound to develop over time.

          • basic jelously from other players if they dont like him, comments from ali carter and his behaviour he should be ashamed of himself.
think judds great for the game, love to see attacking snooker. reminds me of when alex higgins sprang on to the scene, you had other pro's trying to put him down due to his style of play. but he put bums on seats, and thats whats its all about. to be honest id rather watch paint dry than watch carter.

            • i dont understand all the hate towards trump, i think hes a great player and is amazing to watch. yes he takes some crazy shots, some work in his favour, some dont, but hes got the confidence to go for them instead of doing the run-of-the-mill snooker that everyone else plays. the only thing that bugs me about trump ( and i think i heard about this during the masters ) are his fans. apparently his fans are quite rowdy? and apparently he has a bit of an attitude/ego? - ive never saw an interview with him so cant comment - if he does, then hopefully he will mature into a more modest, respectable player.

and for people to turn round and say his game is totally based on luck, are nothing short of mental. how the hell can you be so high in the rankings and depend purely on luck? ludacris! if that was the case then we all would be professional snooker players.

can see him having an average season next season, but i get a funny feeling the season after he will be on fire!

I don't know what else I can argue about when you say the situation is irrelevant.
                I'm into retreating mode now.
Wish Judd had one of those lucky moments against not Carter, who clapped him, but Hann, who would definitely have slapped him on the face

When was the last real fight or something close to it? Hann v Hicks?
