So not a big deal in my opinion.

Anyway, weird frame, both players trying their best to lose it. Higginson will be angry with himself, as he could have pushed on for 6-2.
its still not confirmed cao yupengs was a foul clive everton isnt sure it was and hes had many looks at it

look at a football scenario cynical foul on a player who is likely to score (is this cheating or just a sacrifice) to me its cheating

I think Higginson showed a lack of killer instinct again, he should have got something out of the session. Jones was visibly frustrated at one point, but he somehow ended the session with the upper hand, at least psychologically. It will be interesting to see how it develops tonight.

I'm leaning more towards sacrifice myself. I think the rules should discourage any deliberate fouling. I think they probably do in football, as the penalty for this is pretty harsh. It's an automatic red card, and providing it happens in the penalty area, it's a penalty shot as well, which gives the "likely to score" situation right back to the non-offending team.

Of course you could extend that logic to deliberate fouls where there isn't an immediate danger, like a foul that stops the opposing team's momentum, made long before any scoring chance could develop. If you think the penalty for this in the rules is too lenient, you could call it an exploit I suppose, but I still wouldn't blame anyone for using it.

For me, cheating is trying to get away with something illegal, or trying to avoid a penalty for an offense you know you are committing.

Did I just hear Denis Taylor say that he once played snooker for England?

Had to laugh a Higginson's introduction:

                "Andrew Higginson, The Widnes Viking!"

Just rolls off the tongue doesn't it.

Yeah! Jamie Jones playing well, looks like a VERY confident player, especially considering it's the biggest match of his life!

extended spider and swan neck, some viewers might not have ever seen one used in a tournament, very rare to see either one of them! Lovely chance for Jones here!!

He's not short on confidence right now is he, you'd have to say it's a pretty impressive crucible debut so far. I wonder if we're lookung at a futire Welsh world champ?

damn right it is!! Look at him go, the breaks too, I wouldn't see its an impossibility in the future, he's got all the skills and the confidence needed, Higginson needs to win the next 2 frames really to stay in the match! The Welsh massive cheering him on too. . .

Look at Jones go! Another century and in again now. . . he looks a very dangerous player, I'd say top 16 in due course! Does anyone know if he gets to quarters or semi finals about his ranking?

the stolen frame from a snooker down in the first session still hurts higginsins and his concetration

why didnt players forget these kind of things quickly and remind them that there is a long way to go. like ronnie did after williams stolen him a frame. think experince makes the difference
one frame shouldnt make a difference at all in best of 25
