your deemed to be able to see both sides so technically it is 3 miss rule

hes the lowest ranked quarter finalist and the best of the losers

im rooting for ronnie so not fully going for the underdog Ali Carter ranked 17 is the lowest

Some great snooker there from Jamie Jones...... I really thought it was going to go 12-12!!

Well played Ali Carter thou, a bit nervy when he got close to the winning line but got there in the end......

                    Looking forward to the semi-finals!!

Not quite. The 3 miss rule assumes the player has a central full-ball contact available. It doesn't mention the term "snookered", which is defined elsewhere in the rules as not being able to hit both extreme edges of any ball that could be on. So while you can't be "snookered" by a cushion, it's not relevant for this scenario.

Anyway, well played to Carter, took one of his chances in the end. I wish him all the best, but a Carter-O'Sullivan final would be a tragedy. If it's anything similar to 2008 at least.

Also, well done to Jones for an excellent tournament. He never cracked under pressure, he just didn't have enough on the day, and nobody expected him to anyway. I'm sure we will see a lot of him next season.

Credit to Ali, got over the line, that's all that matters! Standing ovation to Jones, fantastic effort, the highlight of the tournament in terms of overall performance, one off performance being Hendry's max and the "time warp" session from him, but for Jones to do what he's done is immense! Well played son!!
