He is doing the right thing, It looks like the right time.
Stephen was the first player I saw playing and since that I fell in love with snooker
Was so nice to see him play almost like in the 90' in the 1st round aswell
He is the legend, good luck to him and looking forward hearing him at the BBC!2007 TSF Pot Black prediction contest winner

Seeing Stephen in Junior Pot Black all those years ago is the reason I've loved snooker and watching him win all his titles has been amazing. So pleased he got the 147 in the first round and that I went to see him play in the Legends at the Crucible the week before these championships!
I'll miss seeing you play Stephen - you're a real LEGEND!!!!Winner of Crucible 77's 2009 World Championship Lucky Dip.

I understood from something John Virgo said in commentary when the live snooker began this afternoon, that Stephen Hendry had stepped into the arena to say his farewells to the game and his fans. I missed it unfortunately and was wondering if anyone knew where I could see it?
[EDIT] Never mind, the BBC have just repeated it.Last edited by Billy; 2 May 2012, 05:01 PM."Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"

Am I the only one who felt let down by the Hendry tribute this afternoon? I mean I can't stand the guy but I recognise his achievements and wanted to ensure I saw a fitting tribute to the man who changed the nature of the game. They said we'd see an "honour guard of former world champions" and Rob Walker said immediately beforehand "I don't think he realises just how much effort has gone into this..." And we got Davis, Parrott, Doherty and Griffiths, in shirtsleeves, and then a brief standing ovation.
Is that it? I mean I know it was a surprise retirement but surely that level of achievement deserves more than Ronnie got for making 128 the other day? Why not wait and do it properly? I'm sure Jimmy would have come along, Murphy would surely have agreed, as would Higgins etc. Get every world champion you can lay your hands on to come to Sheffield for Monday night, all in full dress, into the arena and give him the tribute he deserves.
