Yes, I already got that you prefer the close frame situations. I like them, as well. But Ronnie gives the drama and tension from time to time, too, so, I got your point
Hopefully, whatever lineup we get for the final, it's going to be a good one. At least, that's the way I'm feeling.

That's my one and only criteria for a good Final...one-sided finals are the biggest let-down in my book. Hence not too keen on ROS in the final...he has a tendency to run away with frames But...if Maguire reaches the final, then it might be ok...I don't think Carter can hold back ROS...but Maguire could.

Btw very often the semis provide better matches imo than the final...that might be because of course the players have been battling for 15 days to *get to* the final. Once that has been achieved...

Is it just me or has the standard of play dramatically dipped since they re-covered the table for the SF's? All the players, even Ronnie look to be really struggling to get the cue ball under control.

Yes, I have mentioned about this yesterday also. I really wonder if it has got something to do with the clothing.

Yeah it does seem that way. Big bounces of the side cushions especially. Normally players adjust to the table or a fast cloth, but this time proves difficult...

Damn...bbc ended their 11am program 1 frame before the end of the session! Now having to sit through a repeat of the complete 2nd session before I can watch the last frame of this session.

Matthew is definately not my favorite player to watch, but I like him as a person.
Matthew and Ronnie are very simular in style so as a match it would be mundane

While Carter and Maguire do compliment eachother

Yes I agree. It sure looks that way. You know, I find it pretty difficult to predict which match-ups are going to be close matches and which ones won't. Quite often for me personally it seems like for a big part it's on the day really...and how the players feel/cope...

                      • Carter takes another close frame. He has won almost all of them, hence the four-frame lead. Maguire will need a really strong session tonight to get back into the match.

                        • Nice session from Carter, he did what he needed to do and take a 10-6 lead into the next session tonight......

Wow! Good on Ali...well played this session. Hopefully Maguire can win the next session at least 5-3...6-2 would be perfect of course.

If it was Maguire who opened up a four-frame lead, I'd be tempted to declare him a heavy favorite to come out on top, but Maguire can play an astounding session and get himself right back to this match.
