Anyone noticed that Maguire has a piece of black tape on the butt of his cue covering up the badge (robin cook cue i think)? Wonder what thats about.

The tape on the butt of his cue is not covering the badge, it is to help grip the cue in the same place every time...

I was a bit surprised by his earlier resigned attitude.
In his two finals this season, he played well (actually extremely well against O'Sullivan), but perhaps even more impressive was his fighting character. He didn't give up. He tried really hard to the very last balls.
Now that he saw Carter isn't untouchable, he'll be feeling better. And hey, he's got the crowd on his back now!

I thought for a moment there Maguire was going to crumble, leaving us one session short, but fair dues, he got his act together and fought his way back into the match, just. So now the last session could be something else if Maguire can turn it on and get a few quick early frames.

Made a mess of that Ali, first thing he should have thought was black out of play, what about pink? what's round the pink spot, I need to play the red to the left of the pink spot, all his problems were caused by not taking the correct first red, that's the difference between a higgins, osullivan and hendry and ali carter, what a chance lost!
