i love ebdon, one of the hardest working players ever, he got the absolute max out of what he had, and to beat the great Hendry in a world final deciding frame gets massive respect from me, even if i was gutted at the time!!

It's the same in all sports, some the best moments come from seemingly predictable situations. My mum is the worst in the world for it, the amount of times she's missed a classic cricket or snooker match because she's already made up her mind about the outcome.

Stick with it montoya, you just might be surprised. And anyway, we'd miss you.

            • Maguire is not doing too well with the middle pockets in this match. He's missed most of the tricky shots.

                • Two unreal kamikaze shots with his back against the wall. Great bottle.

                    • Well played Carter, never looked like losing this match. I didn't think he had much chance of reaching the final this year, but there you go, you just never know...

                        • So, then, the nightmare final is about to turn into a reality.
Congratulations to Ali Carter. He has done his work well. Now all he needs to do is to sit and expect Ronnie O'Sullivan not bother with winning a fourth world title

                            • Lets hope Carter doesn't play as boring in the final as he did against Maguire, waiting around for 30 seconds after every shot certainly isn't going to put butts in seats.

                              • Too big to care what the fans want, it's ali's second shot, Ronnie is there to win too, genuine snooker fans like me wouldnt miss it for the world!! Lots of snooker fans enjoy a tense final which is low standard with lots of pressure, drama, missed pots and nerves!
