John Higgins is the only player who can beat an in form Ronnie O'Sullivan.
Though ROS is still a long way a way from beating Stevens, nevermind beating Maguire/Carter.Last edited by Ronnie's tip; 4 May 2012, 05:21 PM.

Can't wait for tonight's session.
have some belief, he wont bottle it
he sometimes bottles it, if u wanna call this, when he plays players who doesnt suit him (selby) or rates them very high (higgins).
but this is closely connected with his form. the games he lost against them after leading wasnt due to his bottle alone. he wasnt playing his best at all and wasnt mentally stabile as he is now. maybe that red against higgins at the grand prix 09 where he couldnt make his mind up to follow through or screw back was pure bottle. Pressure can do funny things sometimes but he also brings the best out of the oppoenet when they are back against the wall such as selby.even the greats have to deal with it, its the nature of the game. the secret is how u will cope with it better next time.
ronnie rarely chokes, but also higgins has done it on some occasions (f.e. his match against davis 2 years ago) who i consider as the best pressure player of all time
BUT: ronnie at his best and with peace himself is unstoppable.
and this is his current state of mind.

But still, his present peak performance is quite ominous. This is an indication of how poor the standard has been for some years from now.All the way Mark J!!

I respect any opinion, but in all honesty, I cannot see today's Top 16 coping with the very best of Higgins, Williams or O'Sullivan. All the way Mark J!!

No Davis of 80s, no Hendry of early 90s, and no Higgins, Williams or O'Sullivan of early 2000s. So, if you take a close look at it, Williams ended the previous season as World number one, Higgins won the world title and O'Sullivan has a chance to win it this year. Three 37-year-old players that well made it past their primes are still at the top of this game and regular contenders for titles.

but every generation /era has his own strenght and weaknesses
i give credit to the golden generation player that they still put the work in to compete. regardless if they passed their best or not.
they still have the magic
