If he wins tonight, Ronnie will start to pull clear of Higgins...
Ronnie
4 World Championships
4 UK Championships
4 Masters
24 Ranking Events
Higgins
4 World Championships
3 UK Championships
2 Masters
23 Ranking Events
Plus O'Sullivan has 166 more centuries and 6 more maximums.
Saying that, this is jumping the gun a bit. Carter could make a comeback tonight, and I fancy Higgins to play for another 3 or 4 years atleast whilst this might be Ronnie's last appearance here.
Would you say Ronnie and Higgins are a level above Williams?
Definitely. Williams could have been in that bracket though, had he not dropped down 8 or 9 years ago.
I said at the time that 2010/2011 was a massive year for Williams. He should have won his 3rd UK and beaten Higgins in the WC semi final. That would have put him ahead of Higgins in the UK and level with Higgins/Ronnie with World Championships. He bottled both though.

If you include PTC's then Higgins is on 24 whilst O'Sullivan is on 25. Ronnie has won 2 events whilst Higgins has won 1.

from the big three he is the only one to held all bbc events (includind the grand prix back then) at the same time. only davis and hendry did it before. ronnie and higgins made only the double of uk and worlds.
i think after williams achieved that he got bit lazy and had no clear cut aims

Williams at the very top his game in his heyday was on par with O'Sullivan and Higgins, if not better. But his certain period of drought dropped him behind those two in the consideration.
Still, if we are talking about absolute best, he isn't behind.
All the way Mark J!!
