Like what players wear for the Premier League - a black shirt with a sponsor and black trousers. That's much better than a bow tie and waist coat. Keep the dress code for the WC, UK and Masters as that keeps the tradition and actually shows that they are the 3 majors. Every other tournament should be a bit more relaxed.
What benefit would "relaxing" the dress code bring? And please don't say it will help the game appeal to a wider audience (the usual argument) because that is absolute, utter nonsense.
If something ain't broke, don't fix it. A platitude, yes, but a good one.
Snooker players should look like snooker players. Put it to a public vote, I'm sure most people would agree with that. What is it with this modern obsession of destroying traditions?? Don't understand it.

There needs to be a middle ground.

Don't know why these pictures are so small, or why that thumbnail picture is there (can't seem to get rid of it), but you get what I mean.Attached FilesLast edited by Ronnie's tip; 8 May 2012, 06:02 PM.

But that's you, not everyone is going to think like you, I'm not even relating the situation to myself just to the general public who have a choice in what they wear.

I notice Steve Davis changed his mind about who the best player he's ever seen is -last year it was higginsd, this year, O'Sullivan is " demi-god"
I wouldn't mind, but to me, Ronnie played better the year he won the title with Reardon and will rarely better either his Hendry semi-final or the year he battered Ding in the Masters - seems like every time O'Sullivan has a point to prove, he makes a statement of intent.

I've read multiple laughable comments about dress code, really.
I hope real snooker fans will still be able to pay & have their seats in front row & not asked to wear a suit.
Perhaps some are used to watch sports with front rows filled with top models & suits because they are reserved to sponsors ?
Perhaps they should also pay a entertainer to tell when to clap your hands ?

why did bbc not fill their time with snooker after the match, they could have shown the shots of the championship (which i dearly miss) or shown other stuff
surely, after that short evening session they had more time than enough to do so.if it had been a longer final they surely would have done this

He annoys me and they should never have gotten rid of MC Alan Hughes(makes him sound like a DJ), but fair play to him, he does get the crowd warmed up, and did you ever see theintermediate horror that was Richard Bear? Man, that guy could kill an atmosphere.
Regarding the dress code, speaking as a transvestite, I contemplated dressing up for the occasion, but was grateful that I didn't because A) hardly anyone else dressed smartly and B) I was already sweating buckets with full makeup and a posh frock! As I said, you can see from footage of the '85 final people have never dressed all that smartly for the final, and the guy in the blue and white football shirt(Coventry did you say?) is there every year, pretty much every session, so I think he can wear what he likes.

He however got a scruffy beating when I found out about it, as I don't own a suit, and had to hit him dressed in my leather jacket and Levi 501's.
Should I have hired one for the occasion ?
