Hopefully he'll take a bit less of and appear in the odd tournament atleast because otherwise he'd probably drop out of the top 16 I'd imagine.

      • Well played Ronnie, comiserations Ali Carter, Ronnie just too strong, justice, the best player in the world wins the world championship, very happy!! If he can keep his focus up next season then he could win a few tournaments!

I'm sure they will. For me it has to be Stevens' long red against Ronnie where the red was tight on the side cushion and the white on the top cushion. Stevens smashed it in and Virgo went "OH!".

          • ronnie hasnt to be bothered about his ranking

he is qualified for every tournament he enters as a WC

so no PL with ronnie. Unthinkable

            • He won't be taking 6 months off. He always says things like this and then doesn't do it...

I'm sure he'll be playing in the first major ranking event of 2012-13.

              • Well played Ronnie, the final was never really in doubt imo and even more so once we saw Ali's game plan which had Edbon wrote all over it and it's not like it worked that well for him.

I think Ronnie played his most solid B game for years and we saw some of his A game when he was in the zone which happened a few time in the final. It was the first year for ages he wasn't favourite before the start and because of that and the rankings I think the pressure was of him for a bit.

Even if he drops down the rankings but doesn't retire he will qualify automatically for next years WC as the first seed is always the current champ. I hope he picks the events he wants and keeps going for a while longer.

If not thanks for all the good matches, just need to play Selby while in this form and show him his true ranking.

                • how many could he win if his mental approach continues to improve and picking and choosing tournaments helps invigour his desire to play.

He enjoys playing in that, so I'm sure he will.

doesnt matter, as a WC he is seeded for every tournament

                      • I would have thought the BBC would milk it a bit more by showing highlights, thoughts from other ex players ect.

                        Shame it's already over.

Ah right, so if he does drop out of the top 16, the guy placed 16th won't be a seed?

No, the BBC threw their dummy out of the pram when they got caught out rigging a blue peter (fairly sure it was blue peter) competition a few years back, ever since then they've rarely done anything of that sort.
