Great stuff from SD, keep it tight tonight, don't give Hendry a sniff and you're in the final. Had a good run of the ball too, but Hendry has gone to pieces, never seen him struggle against Davis like this before.
Just shows you, no matter how good a break builder you are, if you are kept off the table for long time and your opponent keeps winning frames its hard
to win.
Lesson there for younger players who think that making regular tons makes you a champion, without a safety game you are f***ed

well he's won the mini session 3-1 so he's on the way back if you think he'll win; I very much doubt it, so it's just what you'd expect from a 7 times world champ, he's never gonna give up until he has to shake Steve's hand - I'm guessing 9-4 to Stevo.
PS did anyone else suss that the BBC were playing a looped soundtrack for the interactive coverage in the break? that woman and man were so happy that we were laughing along with them until I remembered a major element of the film, "Speed". What a rip-off.Head Still... Follow Through... Keep it Tight... Never Give Up... Ton 'em if you can!

I can see Davis losing this too. Hendry I think realises Davis is losing his nerve a bit and is deliberately opening the reds early to force Steve to win the frame in one visit. Davis has to take the chance he gets, if he blows it Hendry will win.

Am I right in thinking that provisional ranking points = current season's points + 50% of last season's points? I might do calculating to check this stuff, I can barely believe Davis is up this high.
Predictions for the final anyone? Personally, I think Ding (pretty sure Ding will get through Perry) will present a bigger challenge to Davis than Hendry did. Ding projects an air of mental invincibility, and I don't think he'll get frustrated by a tactical game in the same way as Hendry often does. Davis played fairly well but he had it easier than he could've done today, and he'll need to pick up the standard on Sunday.
(PS ranen - I recorded it all)

wadda m'sayin? musta been so happy bout Stevo winning and my new cartoonist vocation's gotten me distracted! http://www.stripgenerator.com/
Rob, rankings can be found on the WSA site http://worldsnooker.com/players_rankings.htm
they'll add however many points each player gets in each tournament to those they got last year, then re-order the list and generate a ranking for next year.
WOW - steve in his 100th final, he converts over 7 in 10 of them to a win.Head Still... Follow Through... Keep it Tight... Never Give Up... Ton 'em if you can!

YAY....... Davis beat Hendry after a long time. In the last 10 meetings it was Hendry . But Davis has showed Hendry that he can still play great snooker. I dont agree with you guys I think ding willl lose the semis. Its gonna be Davis V Perry in the finals. Whoever comes to the finals i just hope i see my favourite player win the finals. I read this is Davis's 100th final???? Could somebody tell me who has played the most finals???? Also How many has Davis won out of the 99?Who needs 'The Rocket' , When RaNeN is here!

Ding
I think the man to beat is Ding Jun Hui. All credit to Davis last night as he pulled off a great clearance under pressure but Hendry let him off the hook and give him the chances in the final few frames...I don't think he'll get those chances against Ding.

Well Davis beat Ding in the premier snooker league recently and really out scored him and beat him in the tactical department. I don't really care who Steve plays in the final. Both players will be nervous as none of the remaining players were expected to reach this far.
Ding is good, but he also has his bad days so its not a foregone conclusion that he will beat Perry in the semi.
