i dont think Jimmy,Davis,Hendry even Ronnie should receive wild cards if they drop out of the top 16 unless they does something unbelievable to deserve it because they had their time and its wrong clogging up tournaments with older players.
Wild Cards should always go to youngsters
Perhaps you're right with wildcard thing but tournaments should be 'clogged up' with those who qualify. When does a player become old? That'd definately be the death of snooker if to qualify for every tournament all you had to be was an unknown teenager. Given your logic Hendry and Jimmy are now 'old' and 'clogging up' tournaments and such has beens that they will fall off the tour before long anyway so why would you care who wins or post on this thread? You gotta admit it Hendry is in decline and his ranking postion will be lower than Jimmy's in a season or two whatever happens Sunday/Monday.

totally agree
Jimmy White is in the draw on Merit and deserves it. his last appearance at a UK venue was in 2005 when Ding beat him 9-3 on the way to his first UK Win.
I think Hendry is too good a player to just wither away. Players that dominated the sport and were very suceesful over long periods, have tended to keep coming back. Steve Davis has done it. Jimmy White struggled for a while and came back with a great season in 2004 and got back into the top 16. He declined again and is now showing some good form once more. Hendry will do the same but only if he doesn't quit first.
The best players will not just dissapear out of sight unless it's their choice to do so.

i think the anger he feels towards the PTC will inspire him in bigger events.

Jimmy will be A ok, its a best of 17 so he will have time to get his act together if he gets off to a shaky start, and it will bring the house down if he knocks hendry out of the UK
