  • Hendry v White

Where would your money be? I bet the bookies have Hendry as favourite but my money would be on Jim. He's playing like he did 20 years ago where as Hendry's form and confidence is probably at an all time low. It will mean a hell of lot to both men and their fans, mainly because of their history. Whatever happens this is such a mouthwatering prospect. Can't wait, good luck to both.

Fancy jimmy to win, hes having a good season, a lot of good results, which brings confidence, and hes scoring heavily when in amongst them.

Massive match for both these players, and no doubt will be enthralling to watch. Both Hendry and White will be desperate to win, taking into account of their past history.

I think this match is likely to go very very close, and could go either way. White's confidence will be sky high at the moment, and for that reason alone i would make him slight favourite..

I'm not bothered now. White is my favourite player but i'm just delighted he is competing properly again and qualifying for tournaments. I decided to go to bed at 5-7 because i couldn't watch live scoring anymore. It would have been a huge kick in the teeth for jimmy if Perry beat him, after he had played so well.

Well done to both Hendry and white for still competing al these years after. This is what the game needs.

I hope i'm wrong but I don't see Jimmy winning this - he's proven his form a fair bit recently, but Hendry's abilities have never declined to the same extent, so I think he'll still win. I'll be delighted if I'm wrong though - Hendry going out is always my first concern in any tournament!

I think Jimmy might edge this one , as i believe that Hendry has a bit more pressure on him to win this match .
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

i think hendry will miss out on the masters if jimmy wins, cause it will put him out of the top 16, and he could possibly have to qualify for the world also.

                  come on jim

Come on Jimmy! I'm a 29yr old bloke who gets nervous with sweaty palms watching and hoping Jimmy wins. Silly really. My nan and mother both loved him, so I was brought up to love him too.

The draw for the Masters has already taken place and Hendry is in it.

                          Not really.

This is from worldsnooker site :
World’s Top Snooker Stars To Compete In Masters

The best 16 players in the world will make up the field of snooker's most celebrated invitation event, The Masters, in January.

The tournament will feature the sport’s in-form players, as the new rolling ranking system gave the chance for all professionals to strive for a place in the top 16 ahead of the seeding cut-off point, which fell earlier this month.

A spokesman for World Snooker said: “The Masters is all about prestige, it’s an invitation event for the very best, and we’ve got all of the elite players in the line-up. To ensure that all the in-form players are there, if a player from outside the top 16 wins the UK Championship in December, we will award him a wild card entry into the tournament.

“It’s going to be a glorious eight days of snooker and the atmosphere at Wembley Arena is like no other venue. We’re urging all snooker fans, and those who want to find out what the sport is all about, to get their tickets booked for what is one of the most thrilling events on the sporting calendar.”

The tournament runs from January 9 to 16, 2011, at Wembley Arena, and as it stands the first round matches are:

This could be a close match. Neither of them is exactly at the peak of their powers anymore. But Jimmy's display in front of cameras has been quite poor lately so I favor Hendry to win this. But a very exciting match as both of them are legends and are still able to play phenomenally, I'll be definitely watching it. Cant' wait it, actually.
