That said, this is probably the sort of match that he needs, more chance of him getting up for it than if he had drawn someone with a lower profile I think.

Well i'm hoping for a classic considering the history between them.....

but in reality i think it will probably be a scrappy game, that won't live up to the hype though i'm sure both of them will be up for it & Jimmy is playing well right now.

Regardless though i''ll enjoy it & hope for a Jimmy win either in style or after a scrappy affair it won't matter long as we get the right result.

Well, it's a long match. So they both have time to settle. I wouldn't put much value to their performance against Ronnie in World Open... But overall Hendry played better in that tournament. And he is mostly playing better than Jimmy, his ranking shows it. That's why Jimmy will have hard time against Hendry but it doesn't change the fact that it's one of the most interesting matches in UK Champ this year.

Biggest match of the decade i think, I dont believe it will be a classic in terms of quality but who cares? as long as its close all the way, it will be super entertainment for everyone.

Personally i think Jimmy will win just based on current form and his confidence must be sky high, being off the booze and fags has certainly helped his game.

                White 9-7 Hendry.

Well mate, as Jimmy fans we still make the most of these times & always hope he can do the business, i still think there's a few more great days yet.

Along with many i went through all this with the late great Alex Higgins, but as loyal fans we forget the disappointments & remember all the good times.

One things for sure with players like Alex & Jimmy anything is possible

                    Roll on Sunday........

I agree.......its a good draw & hopefully it will be a classic one way or another even if its a catalogue of errors & misses.....lol

And at least it's generated alot of interest in the media & on the forum already which can only be a good thing for the game of snooker as a whole.

Even the poll results on this thread are split 50-50 at the minute to call the winner, its all set up very nicely

Hendry will take Jimmy to the Cleaners With Missing Balls by gigantic Margins because he isnt Playing Ronnie and he will get another chance and another chance and another chance..until he wins frames and the match.

Jimmy and Alex are my favourite players of all time but for class Hendry was on a different planet to them, Im pretty sure he still is but if the table is set up easy then Jimmy could do it and anything is possible.
It will be nice to see them both at the table again in a serious tournament, lets hope the table is serious.

Both players will get chances, its not as if jimmys playing ronnie either is it?

Lets see then if hendry takes him to the cleaners.

The Gods will call it. White has been on the rise recently and hungry again; Hendry declining all the time and may retire sooner. Don't be surprised if White reached the final like Davis did at the same age

Quite right, always nice to see these great battles over the years though Alex v Davis, Jimmy v Hendry, always remembering the time's Alex & Jimmy won regardless of how many they'd lost.

Should be interesting though as there sort of both in the same boat now & neither are the players they were when they battled those world final's out, which could work in Jimmy's favour i think.

They'll either bring the best out in each other or the worst......not long now to find out, but really hope its a cracker one way or another.

Enjoying all the pre match hype anyway !
