It most certainly did happen at PTC events - It certainly applied to players like Hendry who can't get up for them and he said as much in interviews - Look at Ding's behaviour with the break off - Williams and Allen were two other players that allegedly were thrashing balls about. It was commented on in the forum.

It's also naive to say that players always give their all - Some perhasps do, but I would suggest the majority motivate themselves for the big events and big matches - If you play any sport or game like I do, you find the effort that you apply varies from game to game and depends on how much you want it. As one example, I regularly watched Ebdon play at the Masters and cringed at his efforts in that event compared to major ranking events.

The PTCs count, but not to a great extent and fact is that some of the winners demonstrate that the best players didn't win, rather what happened on the day and attitudes and less pressure helped.

Let's hope for a classic match between two legends at the 2nd biggest tournament.

Yeah, this also shows a flaw in their mental preparation, if Jimmy gives it his all and they don't he deserves to beat them, this is part of any players armoury as well as technical skill and they were missing that.

i dont mean to disrespect jimmy but christ almighty some even sees a World Senior win as a telling point for the UK

            ITS NOT

all that matters is on the day and hendry has more about him even now than jimmy has, people are just being fooled silly by some best of 7s in the PTC.

you seem to have something against james warren white? one minute your talking about him falling off tour, then when that hope failed, you talk about the masters wildcard, i mean whitecard... then you advance to talking about zimmerframes, and now youve finally come to the conclusion that jimmy hasnt a hope in hell of beating hendry.

WildJones has a lot against Jimmy White. He never ever has a good word to say about him. Maybe it's because he's the most popular player of all time, i dunno but i'll also say that it's Jones' right to have that opinion. Every one of us has players we don't like and wont say anything good about.

As for the PTC's and EPTC's. IMO, players who can't be arsed to play, should be banned from the next ranking event. There has been hardly any Snooker over the past few years. More tournaments are put on and they get disrespected. It's pathetic and disrespectful.

                    Fair enough.

For the record, i think Hendry will win. I'm just pleased Jimmy is competing in tournaments again. Many said he wouldn't. Many were wrong but it didn't look good for White for a few years, which makes this improvement even more of an achievement because at his age, it would have been a lot easier to walk away.

i cant really have a cash bet with any of you so i push it slightly and instead of cash on the line its more egg on the face.

                      Hendry v Allen 2008 WC
                      Hendry v Williams 2009 WC
                      Hendry v Zhang 2010 WC

NOW ITS JIMMY TIME FOR A BIT OF EGG

He always does that, mixing things and telling everybody that Jim is no good and that is why i tried not to post in this thread , because i was trying to avoid an argument with him, like in almost every debate about Jim, but at one point it was too much and i had to post. And i think i was a little offensive, and i regret that....but the idea is.....his beloved Hendry is going to lose, not because Jimmy is playing extraordinary, but because he is, nowadays, a poor player, the weakest in top 16, the guy every qualifier is hoping to play against, that is why.

                          Regarding the zimmerframe reference.

i dont think Jimmy,Davis,Hendry even Ronnie should receive wild cards if they drop out of the top 16 unless they does something unbelievable to deserve it because they had their time and its wrong clogging up tournaments with older players.

Wild Cards should always go to youngsters

i would second that - unless they win a big competition etc

and i will vote for hendry.
