I think Allen has a higher ceiling in... something like "aspirations".
Compared to Ding.
It seems so at least - from what one can see on telly and maybe in some interviews (well and maybe I cant read Ding's facial expressions much as I'm not from his environment, and he doesn't do many interviews does he).
And it's motivation what does wanders.
Ding appears to me more like "good worker", or reaping the benefits of his "technical edge" because he must have practiced forever and ever.
