  • No Michaela Tabb?

During commentary of the Robertson v Higginson match, Terry Grifiths mentioned that Michaela Tabb wasn't refereeing at this years UK Championship because she was "Doing a bit of American pool". Anyone know a bit more about this? I'm surprised that she would choose to ref a pool tournament rather than such a prestigious snooker event as this.

Mosconi Cup is a very prestigious tournament
Not sure about money but surely easier for refs

It should be easier, unless you're reffing a match with Earl 'the pearl' Strickland.I don't think he's playing this year, but i remember Earl having a few words with Michaela in the past.

lol, i think refereeing the mosconi cup is harder than the snooker cuz they have to keep resetting the counter, "start the clock again pleasee!"

Depends on your definition of 'character' really. I cant stand the man personally. One of my favourite Mosconi moments was when he started kicking off at Michaela during a match. He must have thought he was going to walk all over her and she would back down. I dont think he was expecting Michaela to start ranting back at him!! well done Micheala Tabb but you should really be reffing the uk not the mickey mouse Mosconi Cup. (No offence intended to fans of 9 ball its just that snooker is better!)

Thanks for the link, nice interview.

Shame about her absence though, she's a good ref, and a real chatacter.

                        I miss her also...

Why did they put Mosconi Cup event at London clashing dates with UK snooker championships? I can't see the logic in that. Surely there are plenty of snooker fans who'd like to see a bit of top 9ball, why not, but during UK championships?

I also know that Jan Verhaas has bad flu this week, but what about Eirian Williams? Where is he?

It's interesting that the top three referees are missing, because they pretty much shared all the major finals between them for quite a few years now.

Since Paul Collier was one of the top referees before his break, will he have to step in this week, or will someone like Moore or Humphries get the chance?

Terry Camilleri seems to be missing as well this week.
