  • The BBC are MAD!!

I recorded and have just finished watching the first session of Robertson v Murphy on the interactive channel (301), really interesting match. Now I tune in to watch what promises to be an exciting conclusion, and what do I see? the second session of the other match!!!

OK, I don't expect to see both matches (i.e. watch one and record the other) now that they've ditched the second interactive channel, but one entire match would be good. Instead I get to see just half of each match, the worst of both worlds as far as I can see.

What the hell is the point of that?? Oh I know, it's to put more people off watching, so that the head of the BBC can finally get his wish and drop the sport altogether, citing 'poor viewing figures' as the reason.

I take it there not giving the blue button options to select the match you want. This is a reduction in coverage if true and is worrying.

had the normal blue button options yesterday and flicked between the two matches.

              Freeview

I think the problem is that there is only one interactive channel on Freeview (terrestrial digital). Freesat/Sky satellite tends to have more choices.

they can show as many as they like in theory.

Really.. which website do you get coverage from?

Anywhere and everywhere. I check on here for the livestreams that people post, or the BBC Website.

Yeah as others have said, the problem is that with freeview only, you just get the one match on 301. Those viewers lucky enough to have Sky, a satelite dish and working sky box get the extra channels and can have a pick of matches.
Am gonna check out this cable from the laptop idea for future tournaments. This would seem the appropriate course of action if the BBC wont put 2 matches on 301 or even simpler just re-activate channel 302 - like the good old days.. It can't be that difficult..

Don't have Sky anymore, but have an old Sky box. Do you think if I set up my old Sky box and pressed the red button I'd get the Sky options?

to be quite honest the BBC coverage (if you can call it that) has been pretty poor to say the least this year

yes you do. we've got an old sky box set up for the "free" channels but the red button works fine on it.

however it's not working at all on my freeview box - all week it's told me "service is unavailable at this time"!

                              solution - drive to Telford!
